Klyona was born in Birkirkara in October 2003 to Josette and Colin and has two siblings.

Klyona sat with BKVC for a chat and what it had to say.

Tell us something about your family, any siblings?
Apart from my parents, my brother and sister, there is CJ. CJ is our family parrot.

When did you start playing volleyball and with which team?
I started playing volleyball in 2017. I saw an advert by Birkirkara Volleyball club and decided to give it a try. It was convenient for me as training was held at my school in Mriehel.

Name 2-3 beautiful experiences that you had in volleyball.
In these few years of playing volleyball i had two great experiences. One is the beach volley training that we do as a club. It is something different from the routine indoor volley. The second great experience is the Volleyball Marathon in aid of id-Dar tal-Providenza. One of my coaches take part in the volleyball marathon and he encouraged all the players to apply and try this experience. I was fortunate enough to be part of it and I do it again next year.

Name an unpleasant experience that you encountered in volleyball?
Well, i have two injuries which are holding me back during training. I hope that with proper rehab I manage to get back on track asap.

Name one thing that you like about yourself.
What I like most about myself is that I am out going.

Name one thing that you don’t like about yourself.
In volleyball height is important, so maybe a couple of cm more would not hurt.

If you describe had to describe yourself in one word, what will it be?
I am a very committed person.

You are playing / training with Birkirkara Volleyball club, why did you choose BKVC?
As I said before, I choose BKVC because I saw an advert by the club. After these years I must say that it was a wise desicion.

What are your expectations for this season (2019-2020)?
This year I am part of the senior team, I want to train as hard and as much as I can to manage to gain my opportunity and my place with the big girls.

Would you like to pass an appeal to our BKVC followers and supporters?
Thank you for all those people that are supporting our club in one way or another. I would like also to tell our followers to come down to Cottonera Sports Complex and support all our teams starting from the under 14 up to the seniors.

Would like to pass a message to the young generation (other teenagers like yourself)?
Join a sport, try new things and have fun in life, and why not join BKVC.

Thank you Klyona for your interview and Happy Birthday
