The historic CEV Champions League Volley 2019 Super Finals will feature not only the top players in Europe, but also some of the major stars from other continents. Brazilian superstar Bruno Rezende is definitely one of those – with the 2016 Olympic champion chasing his very first major accolade not only in the Champions League, but in any European club competition as well.

Bruno has spent a few years in Italy already, playing for four seasons for Azimut MODENA, before switching to Cucine Lube CIVITANOVA last summer. An Olympic and World champion, ‘Bruninho’ would certainly love to add the Champions League crown to his terrific resume.

His duel with the setter of Zenit KAZAN, Alexander Butko, will be an interesting one in Berlin. A duel featuring two Olympic champions – Butko with Russia at London 2012 and Bruno at home in Rio de Janeiro less than three years ago. Bruno will have the task of marshalling Cucine Lube towards their first Champions League title since 2002 – when they won their only #CLVolleyM gold medal to this date.

Bruno vs. Butko will be just one of many top-class duels that Volleyball fans can look forward to in Berlin. If he achieves further success in the German capital, Bruno will further cement his already legendary status back home in Brazil. You can be sure that many Brazilian fans will follow the actions from Max-Schmeling-Halle, with their eyes firmly set on their own Volleyball hero and superstar.
