From the Know your Superstar edition meet Miriam Fatime Sylla.

Miriam Fatime Sylla is another star player to follow at the historic #SuperFinalsBerlin. The silver medal winner from last year’s FIVB World Championship is spending only her first season with Imoco Volley CONEGLIANO but she has played a key role in helping the Italian ‘Panthers’ qualify from a difficult pool stage and edge two star-studded Turkish teams in the quarterfinals and in the semis.

Even though as a teenager Sylla was a member of MC-Carnaghi VILLA CORTESE in the 2012 and 2013 editions of the CEV Champions League, this is actually her first ‘real’ season in the European Cups. She has scored as many as 102 points in the competition this far – and on top of this, she is a key member of the team for her determination and fighting spirit.

I am extremely proud that we could qualify for the Super Finals,” Sylla says. “This is the first such Final for me and I feel really excited and happy. I look forward to enjoying the experience with my teammates as well as with our many fans who will come there to support us and help us win the Champions League.

Sylla will try to help Imoco Volley complete a full set of #CLVolleyW medals after they won silver and bronze in 2017 and 2018, respectively – however, at that time, she was not a member of the team. “It was a difficult season and we had a rocky journey on the road taking to Berlin,” Sylla continues. “However, as we always do, we never give up and have always been there to help and support each other. Now, we ‘only’ need to make the last step and bring home the cup.
