Lake Sevan, Armenia, August 26, 2019. Maria Resort in Gegharkunik province, just nearby Lake Sevan, played host to a CEV Beach Volleyball Summer Festival, featuring children from the youth sports schools of Yerevan, Gavar, Hnaberd and Sevan. The Volleyball Federation of Armenia had been preparing for the event for more than a week.

A large number of children, officials, coaches and national team members such as Samvel Ghasaboghlyan, Khachatur Asmaryan, Vahe Nazaryan, Svetlana Margaryan and Veronika Koshkaryan attended the event, with the local stars delivering a demo at the beginning of the festival. Filled with energy and eagerness to play, the children started to compete with each other while asking questions to the national team members about different skills and techniques. The kids competed in a mixed tournament as well, spending an unforgettable day and enjoying their time while playing Beach Volleyball.

At the end of the festival, the teams received balls generously provided by CEV. “This project is a great incentive to develop Beach Volleyball in Armenia. We hope that in the near future we will have our own courts where our athletes can train and where we can organise many tournaments,” said Karen Asmaryan, Secretary General of the Volleyball Federation of Armenia.
